It's Snowing on Mt. Hood right now!!!!we're supposed to get 4 feet this weekend!!!!but Mt. Hood Meadows might not open until next friday but I'm not sure..I think Timberline is open,,,but I'm not sure about Skibowl...I'm gonna have to wait until Shreddows opens

Dub is a studio ting it's almost impossible to recreate that vibe inna live situation it can be done though I have seen the dub masters do it-Mad Professor, Dub Syndicate by inventing their own equipment and utilizing samplers and multitracking equipment live onstage...I've done it by combining a dual CD DJ setup a live mic and various effects and external instruments and samplers/drum machimes and a computer with my mixing board all by myself

Northwest World Reggae Festival 2009

I've been relaxing after a BIG and busy weekend at the Northwest World Reggae Festival...I had a great time working at the INFO booth and dancing until 3AM every night...I even got to DJ for a few songs on my friend's soundsystem in the main dancehall !!!! Besides tons of live music they had a bunch of DJ's. I got to meet Shocks of Sheba from KBOO and talked to them(two women) about the Portland Reggae scene and they were very nice. There were lots of people from Portland there as well as many of my friends from Eugene and even some from CA. The first night was all female musicians and DJ's and was probably the best of the three nights with Queen Omega throwing down some killer Rasta girl energy with an all female band that totally shredded. Michael Rose was the other highlight of the festival along with Chezidek who had my friend from Humboldt Jah Tory come up and sing with him for a few songs. Jah Tory also mashed up the dancehall late night and grabbed the mic and did some stuff that totally mesmerized the crowd. He is very good and gets better everytime I see him. He brought his new baby to the festival this year.
I'll be back on Mt. Hood in a few days(probably by Friday). Right about now I'm getting ready to Jam with my old band tonite and link up with some of my friends to go to the hot springs tommorrow.

Riding Five feet of Powder at Mount Hood Meadows today was awesome. It was dry and fluffy and sooo fun. It's easy to get stuck though unless your on a very steep run. oh what fun it is to surf powder. Finally we got some snow this winter!!!!!!

Shredfest on Hood

There was a shredfest on Mt. Hood Tuesday. We got about 8 inches of sick pow pow. Dry and fluffy snow on a weekday!!!! No lift lines and pillows galore. Timberline was about as good as it gets yesterday and Skibowl rocked. The upper bowl had over a foot of powder at 3:00pm.

Way to Go Steelers, Way to Go!!!!

The Steelers win their sixth Super Bowl! I've been a Steeler fan for forty years and I'm very proud.
It was an emotional and exciting game by another great Steeler team that rivals the incredible team of the 1970's. This solidifies my belief that the Steelers are the best franchise in NFL history.
Next season will be even better. I am predicting another Super bowl win in 2010!!!!!

Tim and I got together and played music for the first time yesterday. I was rusty but Tim sounded great. He's an excellent drummer with mad skills and a really cool person. We struggled through some songs and then hit it pretty good on Satta Massagana. Most importantly we got things going and plan on getting together again the next time I go to Portland. Give Thanks.
Jammin' with Fu Mon T was exhilarating and it really put me in musician mode again. I was so energized after playing guitar and singing with Tim that I went to Skyway when I got up to Mt. Hood and played the open mic which turned out really good. Thanks to everyone at Skyway in Welches, especially Tom the bass player who totally shredded on the bass. I have actually played with him before at The Rat in Government Camp a few years ago.

We need snow REALLY bad. Mt. hood is hurting right now. There probably won't be much on Saturday. Less than 1/2". Saturday night looks much more promising. Sunday is going to be the day to go shredding as well as Sunday night at Skibowl. Monday morning will be sick. I'll be at Timberline hitting the kickers. Have fun and PRAY FOR SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Blazers play terrible but only lose by six

The Blazers played the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night and despite Lebron James and his teamates having an incredible game, they only lost by six. Portland played awful but actually took the lead on a few occasions. This just proves that the Blazers are a first rate team. The Cavaliers are certainly are one of the top three teams in the NBA, and the Blazers held their own even though they had a very bad night.

Bummerh
I was snowboarding on Friday night at Skibowl and took a break to make some hot chocolate.
Somehow it spilled and burned me on both of my thighs. I didn't think too much about it for a few days until I realized it was a second or third degree burn, It's really bad now(blisters and charred flesh) and very painful.
Now I'm off to the hospital again but I can't really call this another snowboarding injury. Help!!!!!

Amha Baraka

I got a call from Amha Baraka, a reggae singer from the Bay Area, Washington, D.C., and everywhere. Haven't heard his music yet on myspace(I'll post after I do). He seems really positive and motivated to get a band together. I'm hopeful and am praying to Jah that I will someday play guitar for him. Meanwhile, I'm looking FORWARD to playing with Tim in Portland who has been in many local reggae bands. The Snow is coming

It's supposed to snow this weekend. I hope so. Mt. Hood has been dry for about two weeks now and the place has been like a ghost town(except on the weekends). The problem is that it probably won't be that much snow. That means dust on crust. Not good, but better than straight crust. Saturday and Sunday should be the best days to ride but it will be crowded. Especially if it snows.
